This Freeway Warrior gamebook, the third of four, continues the story of road warrior Cal Phoenix and his colony's struggle to traverse post-nuclear wastelands and evade deadly road gangs to reach safety. The titles and covers convey spectacularly little about the books in the series, which are far less repetitive than the scenario (and the first book) would seem to imply. Dever shows his mastery of gamebook writing in the way he intertwines story elements and scenarios. As with the second book, the gamebook mechanics take second place to player decisions and story development. As with the second book of the series, this book departs from the pure post-apocalyptic "Mad Max" tone of the first. In this case, the main inspiration seems to be war dramas. The player character Cal Phoenix participates in a military-style mission to sabotage enemy supplies, with three soldier companions, separated from the convoy of survivors. The convoy will not be re-met until the very end of the book, before which the player will have to deal with a frightening pursuit by an invisible sniper, a colony of survivalists who have finally found their home in the abandoned "Omega Zone", forested landscapes and the usual random bikers and clansmen.... v angličtine, malý formát, brožovaná, 350 strán
